Columbia, MO: Red-light camera test run starts next week
Assistant City Manager Tony St. Romaine said final plans have been submitted to the Missouri Department of Transportation, which has jurisdiction over the two intersections planned for the cameras: the northbound approaches to the Providence Road and Broadway intersection and at Stadium Boulevard and Worley Street.
St. Romaine said he expects the plans to be approved by early next week. With that, Gatso USA can begin installation of the two camera sites, which will function as a test of the equipment and software. Gatso is contracted to install 16 cameras total, at the rate of about two per month, St. Romaine said. The first two should be up by next Friday, St. Romaine said, and by this time next year, all 16 should be installed.
