Kaw and Border on May 2: Dewey, Cheatem, and (Steve) Howe

Kaw and Border on May 2, 2009: Dewey, Cheatem, and Howe.
Remember the old gag about the fictional law firm, “Dewey, Cheatem and Howe”? The name pokes fun at lawyers who have the reputation of trying to take advantage of unsuspecting clients. As described here in Wikipedia, law professors even use the fake law firm, oddly enough, in lessons about professional responsiblity and legal ethics.
Well, this often-used, fictional gag tale it may be coming to reality right here in Johnson County. Except in this case, Howe is a District Attorney, Dewey and Cheatem are running the local community college, and the unsuspecting people are Johnson County citizens and taxpayers who expect their elected bodies to deal with public matters out in the open where they belong.
