Club for Growth — Senate Finance Defeats Public Option, 8-15
Earlier today, the Senate Finance Committee considered an amendment offered by Senator Jay Rockefeller that would have enacted a public insurance option as part of the committee’s nationalized health care bill. Thankfully, the amendment was defeated, 8-15. Below is the vote tally. It’s worth noting that Senator Ron Wyden, co-sponsor to the Wyden-Bennett bill, voted for the public option.
