Tim Huelskamp — Exciting News from the Front
I wanted to take a quick break from corn harvest to update you on yet another round of good news from our campaign for Congress.
On October 15th, fundraising numbers were made public in our Congressional race. I am proud to announce that not only did we raise more funds than any other candidate in this race, but we also reported more cash on hand than anyone else! I’ll get to the numbers in a moment, but first I want to say a word about fundraising in general: This race won’t be won simply by who spends the most money. We have the advantage of having the best conservative ideas and the solid, conservative voting record to back up our rhetoric. That is what will help us win the trust of our fellow Kansans here in the Big First. That said, the commentators, the prognosticators, and the opinion leaders will draw conclusions about who is viable and who is not based on fundraising results, and all signs indicate that our campaign is not just alive and well, but we are leading the pack!
Our fundraising totals were covered in depth by The Hutchinson News. With your help, we were able to raise about $181,000 in the previous quarter, and we ended with more than $378,000 in the bank. Thank you so much for your help in launching us into the top tier of Congressional candidates!
Unfortunately, not everyone shares our vision for a conservative America. The liberals want to nominate someone who does not have a proven conservative record. They want someone they can “work with” (meaning convince to support their big-government agenda). And they’ll be willing to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to defeat us — that’s why we still need your help.
You can help us get off to a great start in this next fundraising period by donating $500, $100, $50, or $25. You can make a secure donation by CLICKING HERE.
Another point worth making about the financial reports is that we are spending our money VERY wisely. By exercising fiscal restraint and common sense, we were able to net (after expenses) more funds than our closest three opponents combined. This type of conservative fiscal management is typical of how I have led in the Kansas legislature and it is indicative of how I will always strive to be a good steward of your tax dollars in Congress.
When I see what is happening in Washington these days, it truly worries me. Everywhere we look..we see bailouts, taxes, trillions in new spending, and more and more examples of government encroaching on the realm of the private sector. That’s why I’m running for Congress. I’m going to represent Kansas values and bring some much needed conservatism to Washington. It’s the same kind of steady conservatism I have worked to deliver here in Kansas for over a decade. Please consider making a generous gift today by donating $500, $100, $50, or $25. No gift is too small and you can make a secure contribution by CLICKING HERE.
My family and I continue to be humbled and blessed by the outpouring of support in this effort, and I want to thank each of you for joining us in this journey to turn things around in our nation’s capitol and put a stop to the Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi liberal agenda.
Sincerely,
Senator Tim Huelskamp
