| In a very short time, the United States House of Representatives will be taking a vote on the Nancy Pelosi Health Care Bill. You may not have heard, but my opponent, Dennis Moore, has issued a statement in support of the legislation, placing him squarely on the side of the most extreme liberal elements of the Democratic Party, putting to rest any remaining notion that he is a blue dog Democrat.  The good news is the House Republicans have an alternative which addresses many of the solutions I’ve been talking about along the campaign trail. You can learn more about this legislation by clicking here.  There is also an important effort going on in Kansas to preserve health care freedom for for Kansans, led by State Senator Mary Pilcher Cook.  She has proposed the “Kansas Health Care Freedom Amendment”, which, if passed, Kansans will have a chance to vote on next November. You can learn more about her efforts, which I support, here.  On Friday afternoon, I issued a press release, which you can view below as well as on my website, discussing all three of these items: |

I encourage you to remain vigilant as we seek to preserve liberty and freedom, particularly as the House nears this critical vote on health care. Our opponents will not rest until they are defeated at the ballot box, and with your help, we can ensure that happens.  Thank you for your support and encouragement, and for all you do in the fight for conservative principles.  Sincerely,
Patricia Lightner Candidate for Congress http://www.patricialightner.com |
